Wire Sculpture Collars

Plain Collar

Well, well. What can I say? It's a plain, hand-made, Sterling Silver collar; Hey, Hey, Hey..

The collar pictured is 10 strands of 18ga square wire, which is slightly less than 1/2" wide. This collar has two accent "twisted" wires in the pattern.

These plain collars lend themselves to many alterations. Depending on how you want it made, will depend on your final price. The collar pictured is of the simplest design, and therefore at the lower end of the price range. It can be made:

  • Wider or narrower
  • More or Less "Twisted" accent pieces
  • Bigger or smaller wire.
  • Any neck size you need

Price = $135 - $300 +
(s&h)

*Note: Gold is doable, but will cost quite a bit more.

Here is another design. This one uses (10) Strands of 18ga Wire, with two twisted accent wires.

Padlockable Collar with Initials

Cool! A Padlockable Version of the Wire Sculpture Collar in Sterling Silver.

The collar pictured is 14 strands of 20ga square wire, which is slightly less than 1/2" wide. This collar has no accent "twisted" wires in the pattern.

This collar was a custom order, and as you can see, has the initials of the owner on the front. These collars do not normally come with initials, however, they may be available at an additional cost if I am in the mood to make them.

As above, cost of the finished product will vary with what options you select. Email me for a quote.

Price = $155-$500 +

WS Collar w/ Name Plate

So, I finally figured out how to add a name plate to the sculpture collars. This feature can be added to any of the sculpture collars on this page.

The Padlockable WireSculpture collar pictured is 14 strands of 20ga square wire, which is slightly less than 1/2" wide. This collar has two accent "twisted" wires in the pattern.

As above, cost of the finished product will vary with what options you select. Email me for a quote.

Integrated WireSculpture

Yikes! A Padlockable Version of the Wire Sculpture Collar in Sterling Silver with even more features.

The collar pictured is 12 strands of 18ga square wire, which is slightly less than 1/2" wide. This collar has (2) accent "twisted" wires in the pattern.

This collar was another custom order, and as you can see, has a Black Onyx WireSculpture permanently affixed to the front. This feature was a general pain-in-the-butt to accomplish, but hey, I made it work.

The WireSculpture is affixed with some little prongs off the backside which wrap around the collar. Since the collar flexes, also for good measure, I used a drop of E6000 glue. The glue is just there to make damn sure the piece does not just pop off if the wearer catches the WireSculpture on something. Since this was the first of its kind, I wanted to take as many precautions as possible to make sure it lasted for years to come.

As above, cost of the finished product will vary with what options you select. Email me for a quote.

Dangle on a WSC

Not Padlockable, but still more options to the Wire Sculpture Collar.

The collar pictured is 10 strands of 18ga square wire, which is slightly less than 1/2" wide. This collar has (2) accent "twisted" wires in the pattern.

This collar was another custom order, and as you can see, has a Topaz and Diamond Dangle on the front. This dangle was once the customers Ring. Yup, that's right, I said it was once a ring (see pics).

So you see, I can even take your old unworn jewelry and turn it into something you want to wear. [grin]

So, what did it cost this customer to have this nice collar made? Well, her total was about $215.

Made 2/02/2005

Taking Measurements:

I suggest that my clients use either a dress-makers tape measure or even a piece of string. First measure the circumference around the neck, then begin to loosen the loop till you have the amount of play that feels comfortable (generally between 1/2" to 1-1/2" larger than the neck). Send me this measurement.

Or, if the wearer is going to be wearing clothing like turtle-neck shirts and you want to wear this collar on the outside, then have the wearer put on a turtle-neck, and take the measurement with the shirt on.

These are my common suggestions. In the end the fit of the collar is up to you or the wearer.

*Note: Measurement may be in Metric or Inch Standards.
